Celebrating Forest Products
Into the Outdoors, an Emmy award-winning kids edutainment series that leads in outdoor and science education both nationally and internationally, developed a series of episodes celebrating the importance of forests and forest products in our lives.
These episodes invite you to think about our forests, wood products, innovative research, and the economic growth that they provide. Teaming up with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the USDA Forest Service - Forest Products Lab, and the USDA Forest Service - Wood Innovations Program, Into the Outdoors discovers the wonders of wood–a vital natural resource.
In each episode, the youth adventure team explores all things forest products, including historical and innovative uses as well as ecological and economic benefits. Viewers will learn how forests are managed for multiple purposes, including forest products we've depended on throughout history.
Accompanying each full length episode is a shorter, more focused classroom video and lesson plans for all grades 3-12.
